Letter: Randy Ko in touch with commuter students

Editor,

Randy Ko is more than just your typical candidate for the president of the student body. He is unique and necessary because he is a commuter student like the vast majority of us students, a rarity in student body presidents. He lives in the reality that many students could be more involved in the university and seeks to show students that there is something at the University for everyone. Student collaboration defines student success by giving them connections and experiences that will stay with them for a lifetime.

He understands that costs for education are soaring and he is the most qualified candidate to tackle this issue. Ko is the only candidate running who has served on the student fee review board which is an advisory board of student fees who have a huge voice in allocating over $1,500 of your money that you pay every year for student services. While serving, he stressed the importance of student success with services that were geared to student success such as CAPS, the school’s main source of tutoring.

So, from a candidate who is actually representing the whole student body by being a commuter student and by sticking up for your student fees, we can count on a Barry Goldwater award winner, Student Body Senator, and avid volunteer to lead the student body. Go vote Randy and the rest of his team of LOBOS UNITED this Wednesday April 13th on myUNM!

Sincerely,

Aydan Sparks

UNM Student
