Chihuahuas take second game of the series against Isotopes

On Wednesday, April 16, the second game of the six-game series between the Albuquerque Isotopes and the El Paso Chihuahuas ended in a 9-6 loss for the Isotopes.

The Isotopes started the game with pitcher Carson Palmquist, who pitched for the first five innings. In the first inning, both teams came out of the gate putting up zeroes on the board.

While the game started off slow, it picked up speed in the third inning when El Paso scored two runs, capitalizing off of errors by the Isotopes. At the bottom of the third, the Isotopes responded by scoring three runs.

The Isotopes took out Palmquist at the top of the sixth inning and put in Dugan Darnell. In that inning, El Paso was able to score three runs, which left a growing gap between the Isotopes and El Paso.

El Paso then put up two runs in the seventh inning. This led to a 9-3 score going into the eighth inning.

The Isotopes made some headway to catch up to El Paso by putting up three runs in the eighth, cutting the deficit down to 3. But with no runs in the ninth inning by either team, the final score was left at 9-6, with the Isotopes on the losing end.
