Away games dominate season

The Lobo women’s soccer team will gain a lot of mileage this season. This year, more so than others, the team will have to face a daunting schedule that includes 13 road games and only five home games.

Humor binds close-knit Lobos

Natalie Jenks and her teammates on the UNM women’s soccer team voluntarily practice every day during the summer, which Jenks started doing after she wasn’t fit enough to play her freshman year.

Seniors picked for pro draft

For many college athletes, competing professionally is just a dream. But not for men’s soccer midfielders Lance Rozeboom and Michael Green, seniors who were both drafted in the supplemental rounds of the Major League Soccer (MLS) draft last Tuesday.

Technical tie ends season still undefeated

After extended overtime and seven penalty shots, the season is over for the men’s soccer team. The Lobos lost 6-5 in a penalty kick shootout against the University of South Florida on Sunday in the third round of the NCAA tournament.

Lossless Lobos defeat Duke

The men’s soccer team imitated King Midas’ touch with a golden goal shot in overtime, granting it a victory over Duke in the second round of the NCAA tournament.

First-and last-minute goals lead to NCAA berth

A second straight NCAA tournament berth is on tap for the UNM women’s soccer team. After winning the MWC regular season title last weekend, the Lobos beat Wyoming 2-0 on Sunday thanks to goals in the first and last minutes of the game.

Duo wins MWC awards again

Two Lobos earned MWC conference player of the year awards for the second year in a row. Senior and forward Jennifer Williams and junior goalkeeper Kelli Cornell won offensive and defensive players of the year.
