Lobos outrun Rebels, subdue leading duo

Jaded, or perhaps just unimpressed by Ole Miss' David Huertas and Chris Warren, students in Section 26 of The Pit let the two know what they thought of the tandem during pre-game introductions on Saturday. "Who's that?" the bunch chanted, nonchalantly reading newspapers.

UNM's spending shows it values entertainment over education

Editor, With much interest, I read the article in Friday's Daily Lobo reporting on the decision of the regents to divert money from a cogeneration project to Pit renovations but not to move forward on the GPSA-supported expansion of the UNM child care facility.

Adamson finds constancy at UNM

From turmoil to stability, Amanda Adamson's odd 10-point, 20-rebound performance on Saturday against Texas Tech is emblematic of what she's experienced in the past. In one word, her basketball career has been peculiar. Keith Cieplicki, who recruited Adamson to play for Syracuse, resigned in June 2006 after a short and tumultuous tenure with the Orange.

Admins create ethical void by trying to justify high pay

Editor, Those who fret over UNM President David Schmidly's $587,000 salary may not know of what it consists. Wardrobe needs alone draw $95,000, which includes the cost of designing and tailoring presentable suits of Kevlar (cut resistance) and Nomex (fireproofing) - essential against peasant-wielded pitchforks and torches.

'Day' stumbles on bad cast, terrible plot

They did it again. Once more, Hollywood has remade a great film into a steaming pile of horse crap. The latest victim is "The Day the Earth Stood Still." We should have seen this coming. The first sign that something foul was afoot came when they cast Keanu "Wooden Face" Reeves in the starring role of Klaatu, and it only gets worse from there.
