Lobo ad can trick readers into thinking it is a story

Editor,

I was disturbed to see a religious advertisement being passed off as an “article” in the April 3 edition of the Daily Lobo.

This ad was clearly fashioned to trick the unsuspecting reader into thinking they were reading another news article, with newspaper column formatting and a byline.

When reputable newspapers such as The New York Times run ads such as this, there is always a clear disclaimer above the ad stating, “Paid Advertisement.” I hope the Lobo will follow this standard in the future.

And to answer the question posed in that advertisement, what bugs me about religion is people who try to force their beliefs on other people. Go thump your bibles in church — we heathens can find you there if we are in need of saving.
