‘Our Lady’ dishonors, belittles icon

Editor,

New Mexico is filled with much beauty, including our people, traditions and our peoples’ beliefs.

I have heard several people “weeping” about the insensitivity of a museum in Santa Fe in displaying a disrespectful image of the Virgin Mary.

How can our “Blessed Mother” be dishonored and belittled?

If one knows the Catholic faith, one would understand the humbleness and lovingness of our Lady of Guadalupe.

The Blessed Mother is also known as our Lady of Mount Carmel, Our Lady of Fatima, and Our Lady of Guadalupe. These are a few of many beautiful names for her.

The “picture” at the museum has offended vast numbers of people.

I pray that this situation will be a spiritual catalyst for people to truly honor, respect and, most importantly, learn to love her.
