Anderson offers new programs

The Management Development Center at UNM’s Anderson Schools of Management is offering seven certificate programs in Albuquerque this fall.

The programs, offering professionals the opportunity to develop and improve job-related skills in 12 weeks without having to be formally admitted or enrolled in the University.

The new coaching certificate program is for managers, supervisors, team leaders, human resource and organizational development professionals and anyone interested in learning coaching and advanced communication skills. Coaching is a system promoting innovation and accelerates results, improves retention and development and facilitates improved communication and team effectiveness. During this course, participants will also receive three coaching sessions with a trained business coach.

The quality management certificate program is designed for practitioners and those interested in quality principles. It provides a valuable framework for quality excellence and will help participants identify and assess organizational performance on a wide range of key business indicators.

The basic accounting certificate program is designed for non-financial managers who need to understand the fundamentals of accounting and finance.

The human resources management certificate program provides an overview of the seven key areas in human resources management. The course is designed for experienced human resources professionals and specialists who want to develop generalist point-of-view, managers new to the field and non-human resources senior managers.

It prepares participants for the Human Resources Certification Institute national examination for accreditation.

This course also will be offered in Santa Fe.

The nonprofit management certificate program is designed for people working in nonprofit organizations or those who are considering making a career change to the nonprofit professional world.

It provides a thorough grounding in day-to-day management techniques and to think strategically and soundly about organizational needs of the agency.

The basic and advanced management certificate programs are designed to improve individual and group productivity and job performance. Participants will focus on practical issues related to their organizations .

Full and part-time Anderson Schools of Management faculty and a select group of consultants will teach the interactive programs. For more information or to register, call 277-2525.
