The UNM men's soccer team suffered its first setback of the season, losing in a defensive battle to the University of San Diego 1-0 Friday.

The Lobos (1-1) were only able to manage seven shots on the Teceros goal during the shutout. The only goal of the game came in the 54th minute when Teceros' Tyler Conley headed in a goal for the final margin. Freshman goalie Andrew Weber played tough in the net for the Lobos, turning back eight shots.

UNM played Sunday afternoon against the University of Vanderbilt, but the score was unknown at press time.

The UNM women's soccer team remained winless for the season as it lost 3-0 to the University of Arizona Friday.

The Wildcats controlled much of the play in outshooting the Lobos 27-8. The game was scoreless for much of the first half until Cassie Daniels scored in the 33rd minute to put the Wildcats on the board 1-0. Arizona added one more goal before the half to lead 2-0 at halftime and scored its third goal midway through the second half. Senior goalkeeper Shelly Hammock recorded 12 saves for the Lobos, who fell to 0-2-1.
