The UNM women's soccer team lost its final regular season game to Northern Arizona State University 4-1 on the road Sunday.
The Lobos (4-11-2) trailed 2-0 early in the second half when sophomore midfielder Erchen Theys scored her fourth goal of the season to cut the deficit in half. However, the Lumberjacks scored two goals in the final 11 minutes to put the game away.
Despite the loss, UNM finished the regular season in second place in the Mountain West Conference standings with a 3-2-1 record, its best conference finish since 1997. The second-seeded Lobos will take on seventh-seeded Air Force Academy in the first round of the MWC Women's Soccer Tournament Wednesday at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas.

The UNM swimming and diving team had an impressive showing on the road this weekend, winning three of five meets.
The Lobos had several strong individual performances in improving their record to 3-3.

Friday at the University of San Diego, UNM beat San Diego by a score of 59-54 and took a victory over the Air Force Academy 66-47. The Lobos fell in a close meet to Fresno State University 60-53.
Sophomore Tracey Berghian swept the diving events, winning the one-meter dive with a score of 225.30 points and the three-meters with a score of 259.65.
Senior Sandra Colburn took a first-place finish in the 1,000 freestyle relays with a time of 10 minutes, 31 seconds.
Saturday at San Diego State University, UNM split the three-team meet, beating Air Force 74-65 and losing to San Diego State 94-46.
Amanda Carson had a solid meet, earning one first-place and two second-place finishes. Carson won the 100-meter butterfly relay and she finished second in the 200-meter butterfly and the 400 individual medley.
The divers continue their impressive showing in the early part of the season. Freshman Becca Barras swept the diving events, winning the one-meter dive with a score of 237.53 and earning a win on the three-meter board with a score of 237.60. Teammate Tracey Berghian, who took first in both diving events the day before, finished second behind Barras in both events. During the weekend, the UNM divers won all four diving events and took second in three of the four.
