The members of the UNM women's basketball team are the New Mexico Daily Lobo Athletes of the Week.
The UNM women's basketball team earned its second NCAA Tournament selection last week in the history of the program, which also marked the Lobos' first at-large berth.
UNM was a 10th-seed in the Midwest Region and were shipped East to face defending national champions University of Notre Dame in Knoxville, Tenn.
Guard Melissa Forrest led the Lobos with 12 points all scored during a first half room that sent the team into the locker room at halftime by a score of 33-30.
A second half drought that lasted 12 minutes cost the Lobos a chance a knocking off the Irish. Although UNM lost 58-44 Notre Dame Friday, the team advanced to the postseason for the fifth straight year.
The Lobos, 22-9, also won 20 or more games for the third consecutive year.

UNM freshman Mandy Moore was named All-Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Year. Junior center Jordan Adams made the conference's second team and is an All-American finalist.
