If it seems like UNM has dominated women's golf in the Mountain West Conference for nearly half a decade, it's because they have - the 2003 MWC Conference Championship was no different.
UNM not only waltzed away with an elusive four-peat in stunning fashion April 24-26, it also grabbed several top conference honors at Saturday night's awards banquet.
For the third straight year, Jackie Booth was named MWC Coach of the Year.
"It's a great honor," Booth said. "I'm definitely happy that my peers consider me the best coach in the conference."
Following suit was sophomore Kailin Downs, who earned her second consecutive MWC Player of the Year award. Downs, the top-ranked sophomore in the nation, 18th overall, said her teammates played a big role in her winning the award.
"This feels pretty cool," Downs said. "It's really special for me to win this award."

She led the conference with a 73.68 stroke average, tops in the conference by almost a shot and a half.
The Lobos placed three others, for a total of four - yet another record - on the six-player all-conference team. Junior Katrina Leckovic, the individual conference champion, sophomores Christina Spence and Shannon Johnson joined Downs in representing the senior-less Lobos on the MWC's A-list.
Freshman Sunny Oh, winner of the Freshman of the Year award, and Hwanhee Lee, both from UNLV, rounded out the all-conference team.
