Senior kicker Katie Hnida has earned the New Mexico Daily Lobo female athlete of the week for her performance in the Lobos' 72-8 win over Texas State-San Marcos. Hnida became the first female in history to score in a Division I-A football game. Hnida converted two extra points in the fourth quarter.
Sopho-more Andrew Weber has been chosen as the male New Mexico Daily Lobo athlete of the week for his stellar performance in goal this weekend. Weber recorded five saves against the University of Wisconsin Friday to earn his 12th career shutout for the men's soccer team. He also played well in a 1-0 loss to the 18th-ranked University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, recording three saves, only to be beaten on an 86th minute bicycle kick.
