The UNM women's tennis team remains undefeated in the Mountain West Conference after picking up two key victories this weekend in Utah.

The Lobos upset the 19th-ranked Brigham Young Cougars 5-2 on Friday in Provo and then went on to sweep the Utah Utes 7-0 in Salt Lake City on Saturday.

It was BYU's first conference loss of the season, as No. 73 Maja Kovacek of UNM beat No. 37 Barbora Zahnova in two quick sets 6-4, 6-2.

Kovacek continued her winning ways and earned her second singles victory of the holiday weekend with an easy 6-3, 6-2 win over Sheri Esrock of Utah in the No. 1 singles match on Saturday. The Lobos made quick work of the Utes as UNM won each match in two sets. All three UNM doubles teams also went undefeated.
