Music from 'The O.C.' out on CD

Grade: B

Attention die hard fans of "The O.C." Run, don't walk, to the nearest music store - your favorite TV show now has a CD mix of the show's best music.

The creators of the popular Wednesday night series have begun a CD series, this being the first of many mixes of the show's music.

For those who have no idea what "The O.C." is, this album is still a fine compilation.

Spoon's "The Way We Get By" and Joseph Arthur's "Honey and the Moon" are reminiscent of lazy days where nothing matters but spending sunup till sundown on the beach.

In fact, the whole album, from Jet to the Dandy Warhols to The 88, is like that. And why wouldn't it be? It is an album about a show in Orange County.

Strangely enough, the best part of the album isn't the music itself, but the album's Web site. At musicfromtheoc.com, fans can talk about the album on a message board, read how weekly music selections are made, see what songs are in which scene, look at pictures of the last week's show and many other music-associated activities.
