Fishencord holds the UNM record in the hammer throw and improved on her personal record by two inches with a toss of 179-04 Saturday at the Don Kirby Memorial Invitational. Fishencord is already an NCAA regional qualifier in the event.

Freshman

Beljan was named Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Year on Saturday after leading the Lobos to their second consecutive MWC championship title. Beljan and teammate Jay Choi finished the tournament in a fifth-place tie.
