The Golden Lions went 1-26 last year.
The Lobos are off to their best start in five years, but their path has been relatively easy. Their record includes easy wins at The Pit against Western New Mexico, Northern Colorado, North Carolina A&T and Northern Arizona.
They have played just two road games so far - a loss at Oregon and a win at New Mexico State - and their next four games are at home. The competition gets tougher next week, however, with Tennessee and No. 6 Wake Forest coming to Albuquerque for games on Dec. 18 and 22.
