The Lobos bounced back from a Friday loss at Brigham Young with a Saturday win at Utah.
Utah took the lead early in the meet, going up 1-0 by winning two of the three doubles matches. UNM's No. 5 duo of David Kowalski and Ryan Stotland were upset by the No. 51 team of Miron Mann and Zach Granger.
Freshman Max Jones and Kamil Pajkowski were the sole Lobo team to win a doubles match.
The singles matches featured a matchup of freshman phenoms, with Jones taking on Granger. Their match lasted three sets, with Jones gutting out a win at the No. 2 spot, 6-3, 4-6, 7-5.
Stotland, Kowalski and Derek Boland also won their singles matches to give the Lobos a 4-3 win. All three handled their opponents in straight sets.
UNM is 7-6, 1-1 in Mountain West Conference play.

Baseball
Darren Coltrinari followed up his complete-game win over Utah last weekend with 8 and 1/3 innings in a 6-4 win over San Diego State Sunday.
All six UNM runs came via homer. Jeff Grady had a two-run blast to give the Lobos the lead, 3-2. Also homering were Chris Carlson and Garrick Haymore, whose fifth inning round-tripper put UNM up 6-2.
Coltrinari made it all the way to the ninth, but was pulled for Petr Pacas with one out and runners on first and second.
Pacas got a strikeout and a pop out to end the game and pick up his second save.
UNM is 16-17 overall and 4-5 in the MWC.
