Editor,
Dane Roberts raised some pretty important issues in the column "Ruling has curious twist" when he asked "Could it be that the liberal justices voted for New London because they have a general philosophy that gives government a more prominent role in shaping outcomes?"
I think it's easy to have a knee-jerk reaction along ideological lines until we painstakingly take the time to sift through the facts to gain, develop and maintain more nuanced views.
Without people like Roberts delving into the facts in more in-depth manner, we would have been content with our usual political and partisan - albeit erroneous - assumptions.
