Editor,
After reading the end of end of Rebekah Casey's letter on Monday, I couldn't help but write this letter. She told student Brian Fejer that "You may lick the hand of fanatic Islam that hates you - and may your chains rest lightly upon you."
Why such a powerful lie against a peaceful religion with more than a billion followers? Casey seems to be fond of Vladimir Lenin's idea: "A lie told often enough becomes the truth."
Since when has it been patriotic to be anti-Islamic? Have people forgotten why our country has gone to war in the first place? Casey seems to say that Islam - the religion itself - hates Americans.
Have the racist ideologies of Michael Savage finally planted into people's brains - or where their brains should be? Have Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter pointed tolerant Americans toward the wrong target? Sure seems like it.
Does Casey remember what happened the last time hate-stylists like her turned people at an innocent religion? According to history, it was the Holocaust. Hitler said Jews were the cause of many of Germany's problems.

I don't know how people like Casey have the time to try to put Muslims where African-Americans were decades ago. Shouldn't she be busy watching Fox News instead?
And why, in such an anti-racism country, do we still have racists like Savage on the radio? Shouldn't he be watching over an 1827-style plantation in Alabama?
I've been to the Middle East and back a couple of times, and, contrary to what many would like to believe, Muslims don't hate America. It would be against their doctrine to do so. Sure, there is a conflict between Palestinians and Jewish settlers. Palestinians don't want to be murdered and have their cities destroyed by ammunition paid for by American tax dollars. That's as complicated as it gets.
The fact is, Muslims don't hate the American way of life and don't wish to put America under Muslim rule and impose Shar'ia.
