Editor,
I am a little perturbed that UNM is asking me to contribute to the United Way, when I still have no idea whether I or others represented by our union will be getting a raise.
I am glad to contribute to the United Way, but it's a bit of a slap in the face to be asked to contribute when UNM obviously does not value all of its employees. Are we employees represented by the union really less deserving of the raise that everyone else at UNM received?
If that is the case, then I want President Caldera to just come out and say it to our faces, not hide behind this union negotiation stuff.
The message is clear to me, but I want to hear someone say to all of us that we don't deserve the same raise that other UNM employees received.
Where's the integrity in not standing up and saying what you believe?
