Editor,
I have been keeping up with the articles and editorials about the radical preachers around campus. I sat down in the Student Union Building to read the editorial page as usual, when I came across Joseph Basso's letter. He said he is willing to answer any questions people have about Christianity without assaulting them. He said he planned on sitting by the stairs every Friday at noon in order to accomplish his goal.
To my surprise, I looked to my right and he was sitting right next to me, like he said, wearing red. If this wasn't a sign from God to me, I don't know what is. I talked to him about my views about the entire ordeal and we had a nice, brief discussion. The entire time he was very open, non-judgmental and polite.
Thank the Lord for people like Basso, who are willing to stand up and prove that you don't have to stand with a huge sign, spit in people's faces and condemn them to supposedly lead them to the light.
These radical preachers are giving Christianity a bad reputation. They are leading more people away. If you are interested in any aspect of Christianity, I suggest you talk to someone who is willing to take the time to listen to you without condemning you to hell. Thanks, Joseph Basso.
