Letter: Money too scarce to pay Caldera after resignation

So another president leaves UNM with a nice payoff. If the resignation is immediate, why are we giving Caldera six months' salary?

This is money the University does not have - otherwise the regents would not have had to implement the recent tax on departmental budgets to cover other institutional deficits. I wonder why UNM always rewards the people who have not performed according to expected standards. I also wonder why we staff are expected to consume as gospel carefully worded statements of resignation that are full of parts of speech but do not actually say anything of substance.
