Editor,
Thank you, Debra Au, for a great review of Mac M's CD, Get Your Big Leg Down. I know Martin, and he is a fantastic musician. He even works at UNM, which shows that real people do exist and work here.
I have a feeling, though, that one little item was not exactly what you meant. Your first line, "Every once in a while, there comes along a jazz artist who whisks us away with the calming sounds of sousaphones and pianos to a musical oasis," immediately hit me in the brain.
Sousaphones, basically, are marching-band/military-band tubas. The only places that particular sound sends most people are either a game or a Fourth of July celebration, with "Stars and Stripes Forever."
Did you perhaps mean "saxophones," or is there some wonderful oasis that tubas send people? Are you allowed to share it? Is it legal? Just wondering, but thanks for a great review, anyway.
