Editor,
Recently there has been an interesting discussion of religious issues on Christianity in the Daily Lobo.
Unfortunately it has been mostly a promotion of errors.
The problem with the newest movie about the relationship between Jesus Christ and Judas Iscariot is that it is an error. Judas had his own free will to choose to follow or reject Jesus Christ as Lord and savior. He chose to reject Christ's offer of eternal life. He did this by selling Christ for a few pieces of silver.
That was his free will - nobody made him do it. But God in his infinite wisdom already knew that Judas would sell out Jesus. In fact there is a specific passage in the Old Testament that prophesies the incident centuries before it happened. But God did not make Judas do what he did. He chose to do it on his free will. Just like we all do. It was not an obedient act of God for him to sell out Jesus. It was his own self-centered ways that led him to do it.
The truth is that we all are responsible for the death of Jesus Christ. The Bible says he was the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. He came to die for the sins and transgressions of all of us.

That's whether we accept it. God the father sent Jesus into the world to die for our sins so that eventually we could have eternal life.
The Apostle Paul centuries ago said, "Now the Spirit manifestly saith that in the last times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to spirits of error and doctrines of devils." He also warned that people would be blown about by every wind and doctrine. The latest Judas and Jesus film is another in the long line of heresies that were predicted centuries ago.
We all killed Jesus with our sins and with our evil ways - that's the way it has been taught for centuries.
