Letter: Equal rights for women should include the draft

I just wanted to comment on the injustice that 50 percent of our population suffers from.

I was drafted more than 25 years ago, and I have yet to forgive my country for it. Anyone with 10 brain cells left knows that the draft is out to get our young men again. Deferments and exemptions will be few.

I want to encourage all men to demand a fair and equal draft, one that includes the other half of our citizens. I am no chicken, but I do know that all men will compete for jobs, loans and education with women who demand equal rights.

I say give it to them. There are few things in the military women cannot do if they are trained.
