Editor,
I would like to address those students who have taken or are currently enrolled in anthropology or any other class that teaches evolution. If you don't already know, these classes present this topic as if it were a fact. Let me assure you this topic is not a fact - it is a belief.
Evolution is not scientifically observable. This theory is just an attempt to explain how the world came into existence without God. The belief originated among Greek philosophers around 500 B.C. Scientists have molded this belief into what it is today.
Textbooks have been compiled with some facts mixed with some fiction. Sadly, many hoaxes are taught to students through textbooks, such as Nebraska Man, Piltdown Man and many others. Some Web sites - such as AnswersInGenesis.org, ICR.org and
ChristianAnswers.net - explain why they are hoaxes.
I question the accuracy of certain dating procedures. Carbon-14 dating is used to identify bones that are millions of years old, supposedly. Though I believe this is a fallacy, the idea of evolution and old-earth theories relies on it.

Creation science attempts to explain that Earth is no more than 6,000 years old. This is science that can be tested and observed. Consider the sedimentary rock layers and fossils laid down by Noah's flood - some scientists are now finding that these were laid down by a catastrophic event rather than slow, gradual processes.
In the Bible, Genesis 1:11 explains the creation of the Earth. I recommend reading those chapters if you haven't already. I would like to challenge students to decide for themselves what is true - don't just believe what you learn in class.
