Absence of common sense to lead to society's demise

I find the state of our society not only perturbing, but also disturbing because of ridiculous warning labels. When in order for the manufacturer to avoid lawsuits, a knee guard has the warning, "This device will not protect any part of the body it is not covering," and an iron has the warning, "Never iron clothes while you are wearing them," something is wrong.

This disturbs me, because I am convinced that a society comprised of people who have no integrity, no common sense, no sense of personal responsibility and who are seeking ways to take advantage of each other at every turn will not exist for very long.
