Students must participate in hiring of UNM president

Editor,

The candidates have been narrowed down to five, and now it's the students' turn to meet the finalists for UNM president. In the upcoming weeks, each of the five finalists will be visiting the University and meeting with various groups on campus, including students. As Student Regent Rosalyn Nguyen was quoted on Thursday, "It's important for students to take advantage of those meetings." She has challenged the student body to be proactive in the process.

It is imperative that students serve their interests by attending and taking part in the interviews. While the forums will be limited to a mere half hour, students will be able to pose questions to the five presidential candidates. We ask that you attend the forum to show the candidates how much students really do care about the UNM campus. Now is a historic moment in UNM history, where the leadership will determine the direction of our campus.

All student forums will be held from 5 to 5:30 p.m. Please show up early. We will work diligently to have the candidate arrive as early as possible from his or her previous meeting.
