Editor,
After reading the CD reviews in Tuesday's Daily Lobo, I was left with a very bad taste in my mouth. How does a 10-year veteran in the rap game, Styles P, also known as SP the Ghost, get a lower review on his CD than some no-name local artist? Styles P is nationally known in the hip-hop world - who is
Jigzaw?
The author of these reviews clearly does not know her hip-hop and clearly did not listen to Time Is Money, Styles P's CD. It sounds to me like she just skimmed through his CD like an old textbook. I was so angry about this review that I asked students in the SUB about it, and every single one agreed that Styles P's CD was without question the better one - not just a little better, but by a landslide.
Yes, Jigzaw had more songs, but I think we all know quality wins over quantity. The lyrics, the productions and the collaborations were clearly much better on Styles P's CD, so how can he get three paws and Jigzaw receive three-and-a-half paws? The song "I'm Black" has strong meaning that every African-American can relate to. "Testify," featuring Talib Kweli, was a hot collaboration.
I think Styles deserves more respect, because unlike all these

artists out today, Styles P talks about real life and not about the fast cars and grills people talk about now. The song titled "I'm Black" is real. Styles describes being proud of being a strong black man. The song has a real strong meaning.
The author showed no hip-hop knowledge whatsoever when she said, "Styles P may have been out of the game for nearly half a decade." This man has been on countless Big Mike, DJ Capone and Hi-Tek mix-tapes, which are well-known DJs on the East Coast. If he had been out of the game, then why has he been at award shows performing and making featured appearances on other artists' CDs? Akon's CD went double platinum and Styles P was on three of the tracks, so that speaks for itself.
Before you write an article on something, you should do your research first. I'm sorry, but Styles P has Talib Kweli, J-Hood, Gerald Levert, Swizz Beatz, Akon, Mario Winans and Jagged Edge on his CD - nobody outside of Albuquerque knows who the people on Jigzaw's CD are, like Cooley Sha or Sin Caane. But somehow, The Missing Piece gets a better review than Time Is Money. Is this some kind of joke? Is this favoritism or a real review? Come on now, are you guys going to say Danny Granger is better than Kobe Bryant now?
