Dictator deserved his fate after murdering thousands

Mercy is defined as the act of forgiving or pardoning someone for his or her wrongdoing. Furthermore, grace is defined as clemency, or an intuitive sense of right and wrong in fulfilling a punishment. Justice, however, occurs when the crime fits the punishment, when someone is accountable for the consequences of his or her actions.

I was quite offended and outraged in reading lecturer Joachim Oberst's ignorant comparison of Christ's redeeming sacrifice to Saddam Hussein's legitimate

execution. When did Hussein endure 40 lashings across his body or have to bear a crown of sharp thorns? When did Hussein have three nails driven through his hands and feet, in the midst of grueling ignominy? Christ quietly endured this cruel treatment, and in doing so, triumphed over the entire kingdom of darkness. Christ never killed a single human being, yet we all killed him with our perpetual crimes.

There is documented evidence of mass graves that have been found in many sites throughout Iraq. The many thousands of bodies identified were those of Egyptians, Kuwaitis, Iraqis and Iranians - all brutally murdered by Hussein in Iraq. According to British Prime Minister Tony Blair, as many as 400,000 innocent people were found in these mass graves. Isn't this enough evidence that Hussein harbored weapons of mass destruction?

Hussein's execution was long overdue, because all these lives fiercely demand justice to be served. It's ridiculous to think that many people feel sympathy or pity for this evil dictator. The only thing Hussein deserved is death. My suggestion to Oberst is that he does a little more research before making such ignorant and stupid remarks in
