Editor,
This is in response to the student who complained it was an "atrocity" when her car was booted while illegally parked at the UNM Hospital structure. I am in complete agreement with the student - a boot should not have been put on her car. She should have been towed.
The UNMH parking structure is for people who need to get to the hospital for necessary medical care. It is for people who need to visit sick family members. Sometimes, these people will be seeing their loved one for the last time. The last thing these people need to deal with is fighting for parking spaces with selfish students who are too unprepared to make it to school on time. It may seem like a small thing to some, but speaking from experience, small inconveniences can seem overwhelming when you are facing the death of a family member.
The real atrocity was that this student thinks her class is more important than what is going on at UNMH.
