There was a bump in the road, but the UNM women's basketball team remains one of the hottest teams heading into the conference tournament.
After UNLV snapped the Lobos' eight-game winning streak Thursday, UNM rebounded against San Diego State.

tournament.
The Lobos are 9-1 in their last 10 games and can beat anyone in the conference, head coach Don
Flanagan said.
"We have beaten everyone in the tournament, so we have to feel that way," he said. "It's a new season for us, and everything's on the line at this point."
Dionne Marsh recorded a double-double in the win, scoring 21 points and grabbing 10 rebounds for UNM.
Flanagan said it's important for Marsh to have a swagger
heading into Wednesday's first-round game against UNLV.
"She had an excellent game," he said. "She rebounded well again, and that's something we need
from her."
Julie Briody also had a big scoring night, putting up 21 points, including 16-of-16 from the free-throw line. Katie Montgomery chipped in with 10 points and three assists.
The Lobos led by just three points at halftime but blew open the 33-30 game with a 22-11 run to start the second half. UNM has now defeated the Aztecs 15 times in a row.
While the Lobos have dominated SDSU as of late, facing UNLV in the first round won't be a
cakewalk.
The Runnin' Rebels are the hosts of this year's MWC Tournament, and UNM is just 2-16 all-time in Las Vegas.
Despite that history, Flanagan said the Lobos didn't panic when they found out whom they were playing in the first round.
"UNLV's always a tough draw for us because of their quickness and athleticism, but it's important that we go in with confidence," he said. "You have to just look at it as another game. You can't be concerned that it's at their place."
