Congress doesn't reflect the views of Americans

Editor,

It is clear to everyone but stubborn Bush supporters living in a state of total denial that the current White House occupants would not survive the Nuremberg trials. Nuremberg prosecutor Benjamin Ferencz agrees. He said that Bush should be tried for war crimes. Like Saddam Hussein, Bush is guilty of waging a war of

aggression.

While Germans in Nazi Germany had to take recourse to assassination plots to liberate themselves from the terror of fascism - for which many paid the ultimate price - the citizens of this country have it relatively easy. Malcolm X recognized more than 40 years ago that, as a democracy, America is privileged. A bloodless revolution is possible. Impeachment is key to regime change.

The criminal impunity of American justice has become proverbial. Why is nothing happening in the face of such naked evidence? We do not wait to see if a serial killer will come to his or her senses and restrain himself or herself from his or her murderous obsession - we remove him or her from the streets immediately. Yet, the murderous policies of this administration kill up to 10 U.S. soldiers a day in Iraq, along with countless Iraqis, and waste millions of dollars every hour in Iraq alone. Still, nothing of any real significance is being done to stop this demonic nonsense. Congressional inaction is a betrayal of American soldiers, the American people and the rest of the world. Given the

current anti-war sentiment of this country, it is clear the American people lack proper representation in Congress.

American democracy is obviously not working. To make it work, the concerted effort of the people is needed. If Bush gets his way, another 3,000 American soldiers will be dead by the time he leaves office. American soldiers need the help of the American people. For the sake of the soldiers in Iraq and the people of Iraq, Bush and company must be removed from office.

If Congress is not doing its job, the call goes to the American people. If this means a general strike, let's have one and put an end to this murderous chapter of

American history.
