Limbaugh exaggerates liberals' position on war

Editor,

I recently told someone that I refused to be labeled either a conservative or a liberal because I was intent on observing what was really going on in the world, and that I wanted to decide what was real for me. The same person then told me the best way I could learn what is really going on in the world was to listen to Rush Limbaugh, because his reporting of the news was accurate and unbiased.

I then listened to Limbaugh for almost two hours. If I am biased, I hope that people who read this will set me straight. It seems Limbaugh is saying, without being as blunt as I am, that all the problems in the world today are being caused by liberals, and all problems everywhere on the planet can be solved by rounding up all the liberals and eliminating them from the surface of the planet. And if those liberals are gone, those remaining on the planet will live in complete

harmony.

I would like to be able to ask Limbaugh if that is the basic message he is delivering to the American people, and I'd like to be able to share with him my own basic message to the American people.

I will only address one of Limbaugh's contentions in this letter. He said things are going well in Iraq and the U.S., but Democrats keep the American people in a constant state of fear by saying things are not going so well in both places. I found this particularly interesting given that the Bush administration has repeatedly warned the American people that if we do not keep our troops in Iraq and defeat the insurgents there, we will soon be fighting them in our shopping malls in American cities. Am I misinterpreting that as a fear tactic when, in reality, it is simply stating fact?
