GPSA announces meetings in straightforward manner

Editor,

Those scary people at GPSA are trying to secretly hold meetings so they can pass resolutions. I do not understand why they are trying to hide the time and place of their next meeting from UNM graduate students. It is not enough to announce the time and place of the next meeting during a meeting, and it is not enough to post the meeting at the GPSA office and at the place of the previous meeting. It is not enough to e-mail the time and place to every graduate student. It is not enough to call members of the press and tell them where it will be held.

When will they start giving us proper notice? When will they open up? Notice will never be adequate unless they buy a full-page ad in the Daily Lobo, in the Albuquerque Journal and in the Alibi. They need to buy ad space on all radio and every TV network in the city. This is the only way we can be sure they are doing everything in their power to notify all people who might want to sit in a meeting with a bunch of graduate students and argue about semantics.

I applaud the Daily Lobo for letting the students know that GPSA is attempting to conduct meetings in secret, and I am sure if the paper did not pick up on this ground-shaking story, the GPSA would be plotting to overthrow those holding power at UNM. I would like to thank the Lobo for shedding light on the cabal that will stop at nothing to subject us to their tyrannical desires. Job well done. We all need to write to GPSA and demand they open their process.
