Students suffer at hands of rude campus employees

Although there have been many instances in which I have wanted to write, it took rude, inconsiderate, lazy UNM employees to push me to this point. I am tired of the incompetence at the financial aid office. Although this does not speak to most of the caring and hard-working counselors, there are a few that should have been fired long ago.

I am sure that most of you who are reading this have been through the stress and exasperation of getting your financial aid in, only to have to go back many more times and many weeks later because the person who is there to assist you didn't.

In fact, they lied and told you that everything was hunky-dory, only to find out that their incompetence screwed you. Also, I am sure that many of us have run into a certain rude UNM employee while trying to get our Lobo ID or our sticker to take advantage of the free transit service for students.

What is wrong with this school and some of its employees? For those UNM employees who are not like this, and there are many of you, I am sorry. Sorry you have to work with such people. Sorry that your hard work is insulted by those lazy and incompetent employees who, apparently, have tenure and should have been fired - or never hired - a long time ago.
