Basic research shows that global warming is natural

Editor,

After researching global warming, it seems that natural events cause most of it, despite all the fear thrust upon us by professors and the global warming crowd. I have found some interesting studies and articles to prove this point that emanate from scientists. And we all have learned from the past few weeks that whatever a scientist says or believes must be true.

The facts are not hard to find. There are so many. But, I realized, a lot of supporters of popular science don't have the ability to do the basic research needed to find the truth. So, I am willing to help anyone who needs guidance in finding these articles.

The New York Times reported in 1922 about icebergs melting and the ocean getting warmer. NASA estimates that four of the hottest 10 years were in the 1930s. A cow produces more carbon dioxide from belching and other bodily functions than a car traveling 8,000 miles. Rice paddies produce methane gases, and these gases are believed to be the second most irritant of the green-house effect.

NASA also reports that the Arctic Ocean is not in any danger from the melting of vast amounts of ice anytime soon. The global warming crowd had made it a fact that circulation of the Arctic Ocean triggered some sort of climate change, and this change was caused by global warming. James Morison, who led a team of scientists in this study, said, "Our study confirms many changes seen in upper Arctic Ocean circulation in the 1990s were mostly decadal in nature, rather than trends caused by global warming."

One of the most compelling articles I found came from Donald Blanchard of WebSpinners.com. He has a brilliant article relating to the buoyancy of the floating continents and how they react to changes in ocean activity. His example is Scandinavia. The weight of ice in Scandinavia caused northern Europe to sink some 8,000 years ago. And now, since some of the ice has melted, the land has risen. This is because it is less dense. This same effect is demonstrated in basic science classes by putting a block of wood in a bucket of water. The more water you put in the bucket, the block rises. If you change the density of the block, it will sink. Blanchard's example should put to rest the scare tactic that coastal towns will soon be flooded because of global warming.

The hypocrisy of this movement is quite glaring. On the one hand, it is evil for people to drive what they want, make money to support their families and enjoy the things that electricity and transportation can bring to society. But on the other hand, the leaders of a bogus environmental agenda can fly around in their expensive carbon dioxide-producing airplanes and charge $100 a ticket to hear them give a speech on the evilness of global warming. But then again, what isn't hypocritical in the modern-day science community?
