Men's soccer
The UNM men's soccer team will compete in a playoff-like atmosphere this weekend in its final two games of the year.
The Lobos are leading the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation standings as they travel to Colorado, but the conference championship could likely come down to Sunday's matchup at Denver.
No. 21 UNM plays Air Force today before taking on Denver on Sunday. Denver is 9-4-3 overall and 5-1-2 in MPSF play.
The Lobos are the conference leader at 11-4-1 overall and 6-1-1 in conference.
Denver plays against UNLV on Friday and could take the conference championship away from UNM if it wins both games.

UNM head coach Jeremy Fishbein said that even though Sunday's game may determine the MPSF title, the Lobos are not looking past Air Force.
"There are so many different scenarios that could determine the conference championship this weekend," he said. "Every game's a big game. We're just focusing on (today's) game against Air Force."
Football
The UNM football team will have its hands full when it tries to get closer to a bowl-bid on Saturday at Utah.
The Lobos and the Utes are 7-3 overall and 4-2 in Mountain West Conference play and tied for third place in the conference.
UNM is coming off a last-second 23-20 victory against Colorado State last weekend.
Meanwhile, Utah might be the hottest team in the MWC, winning six straight after a 1-3 start.
The Utes are coming off a 50-0 shellacking of Wyoming last week.
"When we saw the 50-0 win over Wyoming, the first thing we said is that this is a must-win," UNM safety Blake Ligon said. "This is the biggest game of the season right now, and that's how we are preparing for it. This is a championship game to us."
Men's basketball
After starting the season 2-0, the UNM men's basketball team begins a six-game home stand as it hosts the Basketball Travelers Invitational this weekend at The Pit.
The Lobos open the tournament against Presbyterian College in the first round Friday. UNM will face off against St. Bonaventure on Saturday before finishing up against Loyola Marymount on Sunday.
UNM is facing Presbyterian College and St. Bonaventure for the first time.
The Lobos hold a 3-1 series advantage against Loyola Marymount with the last contest being a 66-58 win in January 1984 at The Pit.
Women's basketball
The UNM women's basketball team will face a tough road test at No. 12 California in Berkeley, Calif., on Sunday.
The Lobos are 3-0 on the season after winning the Women's Sports Federation last weekend.
UNM holds a 2-1 edge in the series against California, splitting the first two contests in Berkeley in 1979 and 1980. More recently, the Lobos topped the Golden Bears 55-46 on Nov. 13, 2006.
The Lobos are 10-20 all-time against nationally ranked opponents under head coach Don Flanagan.
