The UNM soccer team announced Wednesday the signing of 11 student-athletes.
Topping the recruitment class are two All-Americans, an Elite Soccer Program all-star and a transfer from NCAA Champion Wake Forest.
Michael Green, a National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-American and member of the ESP all-star team, is a top prospect for the Lobos next season. Green, of Strongsville, Ohio, earned the 2007 Ohio Player of the Year award.
In the tradition of recruiting top local talent, the Lobos also inked New Mexico Activity Association's 2007 Player of the Year, Victor Rodriguez. The 6-1 goalkeeper from Las Cruces earned NSCAA All-America honors last season. He also led Las Cruces High School to the Class 5-A state championship.

Track and field
UNM's distance runners will get a rare chance to travel to Indiana to compete in the Notre Dame Invitational this weekend.
The Lobos will face off against some of the nation's elite runners, head coach Joe Franklin said.
"The distance runners will lead off this week in one of the best meets in the country," he told GoLobos.com. "Notre Dame really does a good job with this meet. The competition is outstanding. The best runners in the country will be at this meet, and we'll see sub four-minute miles."
Franklin said he expects solid performances from juniors Lee Emanuel, Mat Ashton, Carolyn Boosey and Michelle Corrigan and sophomore Brock Hagerman.
