If the UNM men's basketball team's credentials aren't impressive enough, it will get to add another impressive number to its résumé this weekend.
The Lobos play their final regular season game Saturday at Colorado State and will tie a school record with eight road wins if they beat the Rams.
UNM head coach Steve Alford said getting an eighth road win would add to what's already been a special season.
"It's been a lot of fun," he said. "We've stayed away from losing streaks. We've won some big games, and we've done a lot of good things. But you don't want to culminate all of those things and then slip-up at the end."
After the task of facing BYU and UNLV, the top two teams in the Mountain West Conference, in back-to-back games, the Lobos will end with last-place Colorado State.
The Rams are 6-23 overall and 0-15 in conference.

While Colorado State is trying to earn its first MWC win, UNM will look to boost its hopes of making an NCAA Tournament appearance.
A year after finishing last in the conference standings, the Lobos have locked up a No. 4 seed at worst and will clinch the No. 3 seed with a win Saturday. They are 23-7 overall and 10-5 in conference. Twenty-four wins would tie a school record for regular-season victories.
Junior Chad Toppert said it will be important for the Lobos to finish strong, not only to carry momentum into next week's MWC Tournament, but to strengthen their NCAA chances.
"We're definitely looking at this game as a very important game, considering we're on the bubble right now," he said. "If we can win that game and go into the conference tournament and have a good run, then hopefully we have a good chance at getting in."
