'Crazy liberal media' can't be trusted as free press

Here we go again.

Thanks to a recent New York Times expose, verifiable and documented proof that the American people were lied to and manipulated into supporting the illegal war in Iraq has come to light.

Instead of congressional hearings and condemnation, this revelation has been greeted with a great big yawn by most Americans.

So what if every single military expert featured on every single television news program in the run-up to the Iraq war was actually a shill on the payroll of various government agencies?

So what if every single television news program voluntarily shut down any actual debate on the war, thanks to a government-sponsored propaganda campaign to silence all dissent?

So what if all these military analysts were taking their orders directly from the Pentagon in a carefully orchestrated disinformation program aimed at the American public?

So what if any journalist who dared to oppose the war was systematically banned from the airwaves?

We all know it was that darn liberal media which voluntarily imposed quotas for any debate on the war that required two war supporters to counter every journalist who thought it wasn't such a great idea.

That crazy liberal media shut down all rational debate in the fervor to attack a nation that posed no threat whatsoever to our country.

These appalling revelations come from the government's own documents - 8,000 internal documents this administration fought tooth and nail to suppress and only released them after a prolonged Freedom of Information Act lawsuit by the New York Times.

It should come as no surprise that the liberal media in this country would allow itself to be prostituted so easily and turned into nothing more than a mouthpiece of the Bush administration.

Because that's what the liberal media does best: lie on behalf of the government.

The sad truth is that there hasn't been a free press in this country for many years, and it's a proven fact that the heads of most major news organizations and most so-called journalist have been on the government propaganda payroll for a very long time.

That's what makes the liberal media so disgusting - it pretends it's not liberal by doing the exact opposite of what the liberal media would do.

Well, we aren't fooled. In fact, this is why most thinking Americans now get their news from the Internet. Because you just can't trust that darn liberal media.
