Event to open important dialogue on rape, assault

Editor,

I'd like to take this opportunity to share with the UNM community an event happening this evening on Johnson Field.

Take Back The Night is an event to shatter the silence surrounding rape, sexual assault and domestic violence. This event will include speakers from many Albuquerque-based agencies and organizations, a candlelight vigil as well as the Clothesline Project.

The Clothesline Project provides participants with blank T-shirts and the opportunity to write their stories and experiences and "air their dirty laundry" to break the silence and stigma concerning these types of violence.

This is a peaceful, nonviolent event for people of all ages, intended to create dialogue about these issues and provide resources and information for community members who need them.

Please come out and join us. If you want more information, e-mail me at Mollymm@unm.edu.
