The Lobos won a three-game series at BYU over the weekend led by an explosive offense.
UNM edged the Cougars 9-7 on Friday, pounding out 15 hits. Mike Brownstein led the Lobos, going 3-for-6 with a run and two RBIs. Pitcher Bobby LaFramboise picked up the win to improve to 5-2 on the season, and Clinton Cox earned his third save of the year.
BYU's offense exploded Saturday as the Cougars cruised to a 13-5 win. BYU recorded 19 hits in the win.
In Sunday's finale, the Lobos responded with a 15-6 victory. Six players had multiple-hit games for UNM, led by Brian Cavazos-Galves, who went 3-for-6 with three runs and four RBIs.
UNM improved to 29-20 overall and 13-5 in the Mountain West Conference. BYU slipped to 19-28 and 7-11 in the conference.

Softball
UNM lost a pair of two-game series last weekend, falling at UNLV and at No. 19 San Diego State.
The Lobos lost each contest by three runs or less and couldn't muster enough offense to pull out a victory.
UNLV won the first game of Friday's doubleheader, 6-3. Lobo pitcher Kelly Ninemire lost the decision after giving up six runs in six innings.
UNM held the lead for much of Friday's second game, but UNLV's Laure Briones hit a grand slam in the sixth inning to lead the Rebels to victory.
The Lobos took on San Diego State on Saturday, falling 2-1. UNM pitcher Madelyn Machac pitched a solid game, giving up just two runs in six innings. However, the Lobos couldn't put together offense off Aztec starter Christina Ross, who threw a complete game.
San Diego State's pitching was even more stout in Sunday's 1-0 finale, with Ross recording a complete game shutout, giving up just three hits in seven innings.
Ninemire took the loss despite allowing just one run on three hits in six innings.
UNM fell to 23-24 on the season, dropping to 5-11 in the MWC.
San Diego State is 41-15 overall and 13-5 in conference.
