UNM will be sending four representatives from the track and field team to compete in the NCAA Championships, which begin June 11 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Those four members - Katie Coronado, Tiyana Peters, Robert Caldwell and Lee Emanuel - snatched spots in women's javelin, high jump and pole vault and the 1,500-meter run.
Coronado, putting an exclamation point on what has become a memorable season, broke the school record for women's javelin with a throw of 178-7.
While Coronado was throwing high and far, Peters was flying high in the high jump event, qualifying for the championships with a fifth-place finish, clearing 5-9.25.
Peters ended up tied for fifth, setting up a dramatic jump-off with Nebraska senior Kim Shubert. But inevitably, Peters would win the jump-off.

Caldwell, who finished the day in ninth, cleared 16-7.5 on his first attempt. He would clear 17-1, ultimately working his way up to 17-9. But Caldwell, trying to clear it three times, was unable to.
Emmanuel, who is ranked No. 8 nationally will also represent UNM after he qualified for the 1,500 with a time of 3:45.28.
Lobo sprinter Ariel Burr just missed punching her ticket at the the NCAA's, falling short of the qualifying time by .08 seconds with a time of 53.49 in the 400-meter dash.
