Staff Report
Since being drafted by the Boston Celtics, former Lobo basketball player JR Giddens has been ping-ponging across the United States - Texas, California, Oklahoma, Boston, and, most recently, New Mexico.
His life, he said, revolves around basketball.
But in between workouts, Giddens has made an effort to not forget his past.
As of last Friday, Giddens was in New Mexico, training and waiting on word to jet to Boston to make the contract signing official with the Celtics.
"Pretty much everything has been worked," Giddens said of his current contract situation Friday. "I don't know exactly when (I'll sign). But the details are that it's worked out."

Aaron Mintz, Giddens' agent from Priority Sports, was unavailable for comment, but Giddens said he's relieved that the two parties have come to terms.
"I'm just glad that Boston and my representatives could come to an understanding," he said. "And I'm anxious to get out to Boston and give them what they've drafted."
Now that Giddens is a soon-to-be millionaire, he said he plans to spend his first bonus on his father.
"I'm think I'm going to buy my father a truck," he said. "As a matter of fact, that's exactly what I'm going to do."
