Staff Report
The meeting scheduled for Wednesday to address the faculty's crisis of confidence in University administrators has been delayed until next week.
The meeting was organized by the Faculty Governance Committee after being called for by a petition that was signed by more than 200 faculty members who said they are not confident in the leadership of President David Schmidly, Regents President Jamie Koch and Executive Vice President of Business and Finance David Harris.
The meeting was pushed back so that members of the upper administration can attend the memorial of Patty Jennings, wife of state Senate President Tim Jennings.
Jennings died of breast cancer Saturday. The memorial will be held at the Roswell Convention Center on Wednesday and is open to the public.
Schmidly, Koch and Harris plan to travel to Roswell to attend the service.

Richard Wood, president of the Faculty Governance Committee, said the committee worked with Schmidly to postpone the meeting out of respect for Jennings.
"James Koch is pretty close to (Tim Jennings), so he feels that he should be in Roswell for the funeral," Wood said. "David Harris is close to him and needs to be in Roswell, and President Schmidly felt that because Jennings is a key decision maker on the UNM budget on all that, he needs to be there as well. So, it makes sense, but it means delaying the special faculty meeting until next week."
Wood said the meeting has been rescheduled for Feb. 25. It has been moved to Popejoy Hall and will start at 3 p.m., he said.
Wood said attendees should arrive by 2:30 p.m. to sign in.
