Men’s golf
Sophomore Gavin Green scored a tournament-winning 7-under-par at the 58th annual William H. Tucker Intercollegiate tournament Saturday, spearheading the UNM men’s golf team to a dominating win at its home event.
The Lobos earned their first team title and individual victory since 2006.
After shooting a 7-under-par 281 as a team on Saturday, UNM finished the tournament with a 15-under 849. The Lobos were 29 strokes better than runner-up Colorado (14-over-par 878) in the 14-team tournament.
Senior John Catlin had Saturday’s best round with a 5-under 67 at the UNM Championship Course. He finished in third place with a 4-under 212.
Senior James Erkenbeck was sixth with a 1-under 215, while sophomore Victor Perez and senior Benjamin Bauch scored 5-over 221 to tie for 16th place.
Volleyball
The UNM volleyball team lost its second straight MWC match following a 3-0 setback to UNLV on Saturday in Las Vegas, Nev. The set scores were 25-20, 25-21 and 25-22.
Saturday’s loss to UNLV (11-5, 3-0 MWC) is UNM’s first to the Rebels since 2009.
Redshirt sophomore Chantale Riddle had 10 kills, seven digs and five blocks for the Lobos (15-4, 2-2 MWC), while freshman Alijah Gunsaulus added nine kills and nine digs.
UNLV junior outside hitter Sekola Falemaka led all players with 18 kills.
Cross country
Senior Josephine Moultrie led the No. 19 UNM women’s cross country team to a third-place finish at the Notre Dame Invitational held Friday in South Bend, Ind.
Moultrie finished the 5-kilometer race in 16:46, taking fourth place. Senior Lacey Oeding and junior Charlotte Arter placed 26th and 27th, respectively. Both runners clocked in at 17:13.
Sophomore Kirsten Follett was 40th in 17:23, while senior Shawna Winnegar placed 50th in 17:28.

On the men’s side, junior Luke Caldwell had a 12th-place time of 23:59 over 5 miles to lead the No. 21 Lobo men to a sixth-place team finish.
Other UNM men’s runners to score at the meet included Patrick Zacharias (31st, 24:21), Sean Stam (33rd, 24:21), Sam Evans (55th, 24:34) and Adam Bitchell (69th, 24:40).
