UNM Day at the Legislature
UNM Day at the Legislature is Monday in Santa Fe. According to UNM, it will be held at the Capitol Rotunda, Halls of History, East and Westside.
Every year, UNM has one day reserved solely for UNM tables and exhibits to showcase its schools, campuses and programs. This year all of UNM’s branch campuses will attend. Six graduate students will be presenting projects from UNM, along with students from every other graduate school in New Mexico. UNM’s projects range from an inhalable drug delivery system for chemotherapy to examining different Gallina communities. Graduate and Professional Students Association representatives will be further advocating for graduate education in the state and representing the many graduate programs at UNM.
Space Grant Consortium awards $10,000 each to UNM students

Young innovators gear up for robotics competition
More than 100 elementary, middle and high school VEX Robotics students and their mentors from all over New Mexico will compete at the Centennial Engineering Center at UNM on Saturday for the VEX IQ and VEX Robotics competitions.
According to its website, the VEX Robotics Design System offers students a platform for learning about areas spanning science, technology, engineering and math by building with VEX Robotics technology. According to UNM, the tournament will feature more than 24 teams who will compete with and against other schools in a series of back-to-back robot challenges. Participants will compete for the championship title by strategically executing the “Skyrise” game, driving robots they designed, built and programmed from the ground up using the VEX Robotics Design System.
The competition is made possible through a collaboration of the Albert I. Pierce Foundation, Los Alamos Technical Associates, the Levitated Toy Factory, NASA and UNM’s School of Engineering.
