UNM and STC.UNM are hosting “Rainforest 2: The UNM Economic Development Summit 2015” on Monday, according to a UNM press release.
The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Ballrooms B & C at the UNM Student Union Building (SUB), according to the statement.
UNM President Bob Frank and other special guests, including representatives from local and state governments will discuss the role of research universities and the future of the state’s economic development, according to the press release.
“One of the authors of 'The Rainforest: The Secret to Building the Next Silicon Valley,' Greg Horowitt, will be the keynote luncheon speaker. Horowitt, an experienced entrepreneur and investor, is the co-creator of the rainforest concept, which explains how innovation ecosystems work and how to grow them," according to the statement.
The first UNM Economic Development Summit took place in September 2012, according to the release.
