A UNM professor has received the 2016 Award for Excellence in Teaching by the Medieval Academy of America Committee on Centers and Regional Associations, according to a UNM press release.
Timothy Graham, professor of history and director of the Institute for Medieval Studies, said that he was honored to receive the award, according to the press release.
Graham has served the history department of UNM since 2002, according to the statement.
“This award is in recognition of Prof. Graham's reach as a teacher in many different venues and his profound generosity, which has created a 'sense of community' that reaches far beyond his departmental and university setting," according to a press release issued by CARA officials.
Graham is an internationally recognized expert in medieval manuscript studies and organizes the University’s acclaimed annual Medieval Spring Lecture Series, as well as running an intensive, biennial summer workshop called ‘Paleography and Codicology: A Seminar on Medieval Manuscript Studies' according to the UNM press release.
“I am honored that this award recognizes the importance of manuscript studies as a pedagogical field and the leading role we have achieved in this field here at UNM,” the press release quoted Graham as saying.
